I'm All Tied Up in Knots

Macrame Adventure!! I learned how to do a half knot. This knot makes a twisted cord.
Yarn and plants are two of my favorite things, so when I saw this, I had to try making my own! My little hanger was made with string I had on hand. The glass came from a candle holder I inherited when my sister moved away. The plant came from Betty's Garden!
Tying all those knots reminded me of making friendship bracelets. Looking at that glass holder made me think of my sister, and all the little things I still find of hers around my house. Things like, college text books, Spanish class flashcards, and pottery. Oh yes, I found some more pottery!
After a trial run with the small hanger, I decided to make a bigger one. I used 20 super longs strands of microfiber yarn and some beads. This is the space where the clock usually hangs. Poor Gary didn't know the time all weekend. It was macrame time!
Here's the finished hanger with a freshly re-potted house plant. I like how it turned out!
And just because I'm goofy, here is the song that came to mind when I was thinking of a title for this post. I love this movie! Happy Monday everyone!

  2. Yeah Mel, I dug through a box of stuff looking for a candle holder, when I found one of your cute pottery creations! I might have to do something with it too.
