The Lesson
My cousin, Kathy, sent me a dream decoder card deck at Christmas time. As I've read through the cards, I've discovered that I've dreamed about the majority of them! Do you ever dream about being in school? The dream I'm going to share with you was set in a classroom. Here's what the decoder card says about dreaming of being at school.
"Dreaming of being a pupil at a school or some other place of learning usually relate to lessons you need to learn in your waking life - perhaps a basic principle or skill you've forgotten."

I am a student but I am my current age, my current self. I walk into the classroom with the other students, take off my backpack, and sit at a desk. The teacher is an older woman with short curly hair. She seems stern and I do not like her. (Sidenote: I feel that this woman might be one of my spirit guides, she has been in several of my dreams that involve serious business and she always makes me feel uncomfortable.) Anyway, she is in the center of the room standing next to a projector. She turns on the projector which lights up the screen in front of us but then it immediately goes black. The projector stopped working. We were all like, Welp! Guess class is over! We all got up, packed up our backpacks, and headed out the door.
I walked a short distance outside the door with my classmates but then turned around to go back into the classroom. The teacher had a frown on her face when she saw me. I knew I was in some sort of trouble. She said, come here, you need to talk to your mom. She had called my mom on the phone and I was so angry about it! I yelled, WHY? WHAT DID I DO? She handed me an old fashioned rotary phone. I put the phone to my ear and I heard my mom's voice clear as a bell. She said many things to me and I began to cry. The only thing I can remember is her cheerful voice saying, I can't wait for you to learn this lesson!
I was not happy at all. I threw the phone to the ground in a rage. Then I immediately felt guilty for it and picked up the phone, set it on the counter, and apologized to the teacher. I wrote something on a scrap of paper and shoved it into the pocket of my jeans.
I've thought a long time about what the lesson could be, a whole year! I know now what it is, but it's too personal to share here. I can say that it has been a difficult one to learn. I'm still working on it, as a matter of fact. Like so many of my dreams, there was a song attached to it that might help explain. I woke up with the words, The road is gone, I can't go back the way we came from this song on my mind.
I'd love to hear if you've had any interesting school dreams! I've had several of my friends tell me that they've been having weird dreams during the quarantine. Me too but not anything out of the ordinary for me haha.
To make this comic book page, I tried something new! I used watercolor pencils and fabric medium to color in the design. Pretty fun to try and I like how it turned out!
Wow I don't think you shared the song connection to this before...interesting! And no dreams about school for me...well currently anyway. Back in school I know I have.
