Happy Halloween

The weather has taken a turn since Friday. Today is Halloween and it's snowing. Brr. Looks like a lot of kids will be trick or treating at the mall tonight. I'm not ready for snow, that's for sure! I've got a new soup recipe going on the stove and I'm ready to snuggle up under a warm blanket.

I've got a Halloween finish to share today! I tested this table runner pattern for my friend Kristie. She designed the pattern using the Quick Curve Ruler and will be teaching a class on how to make it in a couple weeks. I got the top put together during our LMQG sew days at the fair. The quick curve ruler really does make sewing curves easy! With Kristie's design I thought the circle parts looked like moons, so I went with my Halloween fabrics and everything came together with some help from my quilt guild friends.

Since it is Halloween themed, I decided to quilt lots of spider webs in between the "moons."

The back is all my Halloween fabric scraps done in a disappearing nine patch. The skull binding fabric has a fun secret, it glows in the dark! I totally didn't know that until I had sewn the binding on and took the runner with me through my dark hallway. It's pretty fun!

The quilting design inside the moons is inspired by a design on the stained glass window at church. (Yes, I think about quilting during church haha! Especially since I play for more than one service.) I really love how the quilting turned out on this one!
