Fall Break

Last Thursday night was the get together at the Crafthouse for the Exhibit Block Swap. Look at the fantastic blocks I got back! I had such a fun time meeting some of the girls who made these blocks. I had been following some of them on Instagram and it was great to meet them in person!
I got one of the blocks I made back and I got one from Kristie! :)

The pattern is called
 Exhibit by Eye Candy Quilts.
I can't wait to put them all together!

After all that excitement, I lost my motivation to sew. But, I did organize my scrap box and I folded some of my stash.

The only sewing I did over break was potholders. These things are for a friend who teaches dance. When I saw the cute ballerinas, I knew I had to make her something!

Saturday, we took some school kids to see the opera Otello, live in HD at the Ross.

After the opera, I spotted this colorful mural in the alley! I love the color combination.

Then a quick drive across town to watch the school marching band perform. The wind was blowing and it was chilly!

Oh! I did try a disappearing nine patch for the Lincoln Modern Quilt Guild's charity quilt. I've never made these before but I like the idea, I may make more with some charm packs I have lying around.

And a couple more potholders for an owl lover. I ♡ this fabric!

I'm hoping my motivation to finish some projects comes back this week!
Here's to a productive week!

  3. A block swap sounds like it would be so much fun! This will make such a awesome quilt and I love the randomness of colors, prints, and designs.

Unfortunately I only know one other quilter in my area.. there aren't a whole lot of us in Germany. We are in an online bee together, so it should be fun when it's my turn.

Oh, and I'm thinking that mural would be a great background for a quilt finish... hmmm.
