WIP Wednesday
I'm sitting on my patio, contemplating what I would do if I saw a parrot in my trees. The light poles in my neighborhood have posters taped to them, advertising that Opus, the parrot, has gone missing. Poor bird! I mean, what would I do if I saw it? Call out it's name and say heeere birdy birdy birdyyy!? By the time I called the owners on the phone, the bird could be gone! Not having ever owned a parakeet or parrot, I'm not sure how the bird would react and I'm sort of terrified of parrots who bite. I'm probably thinking about it too much but I feel bad for the bird and it's family.
In other wild bird news, Mr. Wren has finally found a mate and the two of them have been flying in and out of the birdhouse in the backyard. They're so tiny and cute with all their flitting and singing :)
Anyway! Here's what I've been working on lately.
A little Christmas in July! I'm working on some Christmas pot holders for my Aunt Phyllis.
This is as far as I got on these while I was at mom's last week.
The t-shirt quilt.
I've made it past the drudgery of ironing interfacing on the t-shirt blocks. Man that takes forever and a day! This quilt is going to be double sided and I've got the layout decided for one side, hopefully I can figure out the other side and start sewing the blocks together.
My crochet mandala has grown!
What do you think of the BRIGHT color scheme? It's pretty shocking, if I do say so myself!
I'm having a lot of fun working on this project, one round at a time. I'm still not sure how big I'm going to go but I don't think I'll make the full pattern.
And just for fun, here's the hollyhock dolls I made while I was at mom's. The one with the sweet pea hat is my favorite.
Linking up with WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced and Let's Bee Social at Sew Fresh Quilts.
I love your potholders but especially love your hollyhock dolls!
