National Quilting Day at the Quilt Museum

Saturday was the National Quilting Day event, held at the International Quilt Study Center & Museum, here in Lincoln.
The Quilts of Valor were displayed on the railings and the staircase leading to the second floor.
I just love how it looks with all the quilts!

This quilt was in the conservation work room and I wish I could've gotten a better look at it.
The colors were so vibrant and bright, which my crappy cell phone pic doesn't show.

This exhibit was about crazy quilts.
I loved the bold colors of the one on the right!

I attended one out of the four lectures.
This one was called The Digital Quilt, which I enjoyed.
The presentation showed the process of how to create a fabric design using images in Photoshop and then printing it out, resulting in your very own custom fabric! I don't know the first thing about Photoshop, but I think printing my own fabric would be pretty cool!

Here is my quilting buddy, Kristie from Sew Sunshine, volunteering at the Aurifil booth.
I just had to get a picture of her with her awesome Sunrise/Sunset quilt!

This amazing Quilt of Valor was presented to a veteran by some 4-H youth.
What a beautiful thing.

There were many handwork demonstrations and displays that I didn't take pictures of but I enjoyed visiting with everyone about what they were working on.
This Popeye quilt was just too cute!

There are more pictures from the day on the quilt museum's facebook page here.
I had a good time, I'm glad I was able to check it out!
