WIP Wednesday: Snow Day Edition
Today was my THIRD snow day this week!
How lucky am I with all the free sewing time?
This morning, I got up and began my regular morning routine and then school was called off.
The snow was coming down strong, so I was really happy that I did not have to go out.
After some coffee, I got right to work finishing the quilting on the supernova friendship quilt that Kristie and I made together.
By the time the snow stopped, I had the quilting done!
I made up some binding with fabric from my stash and then I needed a cookie break.
Gary spotted the red tailed hawk swooping into our backyard. He grabbed the camera and snapped a pic of it sitting on our neighbors fence. It was super close!
We get really excited when we see these huge birds in our backyard and hope that they will start eating some of the many squirrels we have around here.
We like to think that our squirrels must be extra tasty because of all the birdseed they eat.
Although, we might be sad if the hawks ate Bobbie. She's our favorite squirrel haha!

Snow days mean uncovering the car and cleaning up the snow at some point. My muscles are going to be so sore from shoveling the driveway! Gary and I teamed up and got the job done. Then he got out his snow brick makers and started making...something. The snow bricks were too small, so he got out our cooler and made giant snow bricks! He was having so much fun. I'm not sure what he was going for but we decided that the snow was too dry to make strong and solid bricks.
The snow will probably be stickier tomorrow. :)
Now I'm off to take an Advil and start working on that binding!
