Nebraska Seasons Quilt

Do you ever wake up in the night, sit up in bed and say,
"CRAP! I FORGOT DAD'S BIRTHDAY!"??
That was me last year on my dad's birthday. I felt horrible.

I asked him what he wanted for his birthday and he requested a quilt/wall hanging for his office.
He came up with the idea to do the colors of the Nebraska seasons.
I didn't know what to do at first but then I got the idea to put the sun block in the center and build up the borders in a seasonal order after that.

I've had this border book for YEARS and never used it before. I'm not sure why I bought it in the first place, but I'm glad I had it for this project!
Each border represents a season color wise. I, of course, used the brightest colors possible! Thanks to all the snow days, I was able to get it finished up before his birthday this year.

The best part of this story is that my dad happened to be in town on his birthday and I was able to meet him for lunch and deliver his birthday quilt in person!

I really love how it turned out and he likes it too.
I hope it will brighten up his office!
