Hello 2015!
Happy New Year everybody!
Gary and I rang in the new year on our couch with popcorn, this movie and a bottle of champagne.
Low key and wonderful!
I have been staying warm inside and sewing on a couple projects. Every year at this time, I want to destash and make things to give away, but I really wanted something simple and fast without a lot of cutting and piecing. When I saw these quilts, I knew I could make one super fast!
I cut out 9" strips and sewed them together to make 9" x 60" strips. Sewed the strips together to make the top, then I sandwiched the batting and backing, sewed the edge and flipped it inside out. I only quilted along the seam lines, but I may add more quilting in the middle of the strips as they are pretty loosey goosey. The finished quilt is about 60" x 60", a nice throw size.
I'm planning on donating this to Harold's closet at church but this is such a fast, stash busting project, I may make a few more!
