Saturday Sunbeams
We've had some dark and rainy days lately. To ward off the rainy day blues, I've been sewing some sunbeams inside!
I've started working on what I hope will be a wall hanging for my dad. I'm not sure if this is "it" or not but I do like this sunburst block.
This is a paper pieced pattern that I found in one of my old quilting magazines. These are my practice blocks so I wasn't being too picky..meaning my seams aren't all perfect!! I'm still getting the hang of curved seams.
I'm finding that the bigger curves are MUCH easier to deal with!
I really like how the inner circle turned out! It's supposed to be a solid piece but I used up a bunch of my tiny scraps instead. I'm thinking about seeing how some triangles would look on the inner circle.
I'm looking forward to making some more of these! I need to decide if I'm going to make one center sunburst block and add borders around or if I should make several sunburst blocks for the wall hanging.
I'm going to think about that later, the sun is finally shining. Time to go outside!!
I'm linking up with Simple Simon and Co. for Sewing Saturday
LOVE! Oh my this is so so pretty! I just love it.....did I mention that I love it?
