Orange and Grey Quilt

My sister gave this quilt to her friend over the weekend, so it is safe to post about it now!

When my sister asked me to make a quilt for her friend who is expecting her first baby, I said sure! My first question is always about what colors it should be. After several emails, orange and grey was the final decision. It was nice to not have to wing it with the colors because I didn't have to wonder if her friend would like it or not! I pulled the fabrics together and went for it. The back is a grey and white chevron.
It measures 40" x 48".

This simple squares quilt was so much fun to put together. I just realized that out of all the quilts I have made, I've never made one with squares like this! I'm foreseeing more of this style in my future because I have a couple more baby quilt requests and these are quick to make.

On a side note, I have to say that Gary, my resident quilt holder, has been so great about holding up my quilts in various locations. He made me laugh so hard this last time!
Thanks Gary. You're pretty wonderful!
