I Saw Red

The arctic air has arrived and I am so cold! Time to get my cuddle duds out. 

I took a quick walk around the yard and spotted the downy woodpecker at the feeder. I see him often, as well as a flicker. The flicker likes to make his presence known by singing his funny song. I almost got a photo of him but he saw me coming and flew into another tree, obviously irritated. He returned to the feeder after I went inside. I'm always happy to see the cardinals at the feeder. I hear them cheeping when the sun is going down and then again in the morning, outside of the bathroom window. Their happy red color is the best!
