Finished Scrappy Trip Around the World

I've been waiting to post pictures of the finished scrappy trip around the world quilt until my cousin had received it. I was going to mail it to her but then my Aunts decided to have a baby shower.
The party was held at grandma's house and even though grandma's been gone for a year now, it seemed like she was there in spirit. My favorite moment was playing the piano while everyone sang a song called Bless This Child. We were all teary eyed! Many of us have "the gift of tears" as grandma would say. She did too.
The shower was an enjoyable time with all of us visiting and passing the baby around. Regina is so tiny and adorable. I was lucky to get to hold her for a little while with all my baby loving Aunties around! I'm so happy I was able to go and give the quilt in person.
So, the finished quilt is a crib size, about 40" x 60". I have been wanting to try quilting with perle cotton thread so I used it for this project. I love how it turned out and will probably quilt with it again. For the back I used a pink polka dot fabric.
I really enjoyed making the scrappy trip blocks, they are kind of addicting! Now on to some other projects before my summer sewing time is over!
