A Visit to the Tallgrass Prairie
Hello there! Happy Monday.
Last week was the first week of school. It's great to be back. I haven't had much time to do anything crafty though! That's how it goes, I guess.
Gary and I had his nephew Victor for the entire weekend. We tried our hardest to keep an 8 year old entertained without watching too much TV or playing video games. First we stuffed him full of pizza and ice cream because we're cool like that. Then we quickly realized that 8 year old boys have lots of energy. After the 5th or 6th jump off the couch into a sweet ninja-like roll on the carpet, we decided to drive out to Pioneers Park to check out the tallgrass prairie. And maybe have V run some laps on the trail.
V really liked looking though the binoculars at stuff. We tried to keep him from staring at other people in the park but he thought it was cool to "track" them. Also, remembering license plate numbers was high on his list. I think maybe he wants to be a spy!
Gary and I loved having him here but we heaved a sigh of relief when grandma came and picked him up!
All that energy wore us out.
All that energy wore us out.
Yep. Probably going to need a nap.
