SPW Day Five
It's the last day of Scrappy Potholder Week!
I can hardly believe I made so many scrappy potholders.
I sewed a bunch of my yellow scraps together then trimmed those into 5" squares. I mixed and matched the squares until I got something I liked.
As you can see, I did the no binding way of sewing these together! It's so much faster.
The back is this lemon print which I noticed has that almost neon yellow that doesn't really match the rest. Do you find that yellow is hard to work with? I think it can be tricky to match. Lately I've been using a "school bus" yellow or one that leans more toward orange.
Do you like to use yellow in your quilts?
I hope you have a happy Friday and thank you for stopping by this week!
Hi Jen, those are just adorable! What did you use for the inside batting part?
ReplyDeleteThank you! I used 2 layers of Insul-bright batting and a layer of cotton batting. I had no idea what Insul-bright was and had to get help at the fabric store. It looks like batting with silver mylar in the middle. I hope this helps!
