At some point while I was making scrappy potholders and staying inside due to the super hotness outside, the wrens laid eggs and hatched some babies!
This morning I enjoyed watching the parents fly back and forth with bugs in their beaks. An excited chorus of cheeping happened every time more food arrived.
If I sit very still on the patio, the wrens will come very close as they look for bugs. I watched one systematically checking for critters under every one of the plants in the flower bed. It was just inches from my feet and I couldn't believe how tiny it was! It sure has been fun having them around.
